Mission Statement:

The Mission of the Parent Association is to support St. Francis Xavier School by coordinating fundraising efforts and to help promote the development of community through the sponsorship of school - related events. It is also a place to help facilitate and encourage volunteerism. All of you who have children enrolled in the school are considered members.

Schedule of Meetings 2007/2008 School Year

The Parent Association Meetings will take place on the third Monday, in the evening, every other month, in the McShea Auditorium from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. as follows:

At these meetings we will discuss the following:
· Upcoming social or fundraising events
· Past Months' Events and their success rate
· Open items from Past Meeting
· New thoughts and Ideas

These meetings will be posted on the monthly school calendar.

Update of Events

Grandparents Day - This event will be held in McShea Auditorium after the 1st Friday Mass on May 2, 2008. We look forward to hosting the grandparents to help celebrate their importance in our lives.

Ladies Night Out- Ladies Night Out will be held at the Weymouth Elks, on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 7:00 to 11:00. Invitations went home with the children. Join us for an evening of pampering, shopping, and lots of fun! If you have any items you would like to donate for the raffle table, please call Jean Petrillo at 781-871-871-7149 or MaryAnn Bertino at 781-331-1844. Tickets are still available for $35.00 per person for this event. Please RSVP by May 9 with your name and number of guests and your payment (make checks payable to St. Francis Xavier School), and return to school enclosed in an envelope marked Ladies Night Out.

Spring Raffle - The Parent Association Spring Raffle has been sent. Please return the completed tickets and money to school no later than Wednesday, May 21. Chances are $5.00 each. The Grand Prize is a six night/seven day stay at the Long Wharf Resort in Newport, Rhode Island. The drawing will be held on Sunday, May 26 after the 9:30 Family Mass.
We thank you in advance for your participation in the last big fundraiser of the 2007/2008 school year. This fundraiser is a major contributor in our efforts to raise $40.000.00 for the school, and we appreciate all who contribute.

Summer Sizzler Dance - The dance is scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2008. Invitations will be sent home with the children. Please RSVP, so we can plan accordingly. If you buy tickets at the door, tickets are $4.00 and there will be a limited supply of pizza to purchase, so keep this in mind. A Summer Sizzler Volunteer Form can be found on the SFX website. If you would like to help at the last party of the year, please submit this form. If you have any questions or have a raffle item you would like to donate, please contact Luciana Mazzella at 781-335-3344.

Please note the dance times:
PreK - Grade 3 5:00-6:45 p.m.
Grades 4-6 7:00 -8:45 p.m.

Also, please be reminded, all children must be accompanied by an adult. If you have older children that must attend the first dance, please supervise them, so the younger children can enjoy their designated dance time.

Call for New Chair People - It will be the new school year before we know it! Right now, the St. Francis Xavier Parent Association needs chair people for the beginning of the 2008/2009 school year. If you are interested in volunteering to be a Chair Person or Co-Chair for the Magazine Drive or Halloween Dance, please fill out and submit a Chair Person Volunteer Form found on the SFX Website. The Chair People organize and run the events, with the help of the SFX Parent Board. If you have any questions about any of these events, please contact a board member for full details. Thank you in advance. Without parent volunteers, these events would not be able to take place.

President and Secretary Positions -Ballot information and the roles and responsibilities of these positions are posted on the website under Parent Association Forms. All nominations should be submitted on or before May 19, with the vote to take place at the May 19 Parent Association Meeting. Please call Diane Saniuk or Lori Atteridge for full details.
