shows for our Junior Drama Workshop (grades 3 and 4): ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMER THEATRE WORKSHOP SERIES 2008 Plays · Musicals · Improvisational Groups Junior Drama Musical Workshop, Senior Acting Workshop, The SFX SUMMER THEATRE WORKSHOP SERIES 2008 The Saint Francis Xavier Fine Arts Program offers students training in theatre games and exercises, delivering dialogue/monologues, scene study, and, depending on the program, music and dance. Regardless of experience, everyone who participates in this program will improve their acting and performance techniques and skills, as well as learn the essence of stage presence and team bonding. Our goal is to cultivate new talents in students as
they continue to grow. Although we know that the students will enjoy this exciting theatrical journey, rehearsing for a show of any length is difficult and requires that each actor commit to being present at every class. Please be honest when filling out the conflict information on the registration form. Finally, if you are registering more than one child
for workshop classes, each child must hand in a separate registration
form. You may pick up extra registration forms at the Saint Francis
Xavier Parish Center during business hours, Thank you, Junior Drama Musical Workshop This workshop class is for children going into grades 2-4 in September. Workshop activities will be comprised of fun theatre games and exercises, as well as preparation for a mini-musical to be announced on the first day of class. In preparing for the musical, members of this workshop will receive lessons in acting, music and dance. We will perform our show on the evening of Thursday, July 17th at 7:30 pm. Dates/Times: July 7th - 17th, M-F, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm. *Actors should bring lots of water with them. *Musical Performance: Thursday, July 17th at 7:30 pm. Location: Saint Francis Xavier Church Hall/McShea Auditorium Cost: Only $230. This is non-refundable. All registration forms, together with your payment(s), must be received by Friday, June 13, 2008. This workshop is for young people going into grades 5-12 in September. The class focuses on scene study and monologue work, as well as work in improvisational theatre. This is a great opportunity for actors to develop/fine-tune their acting skills. Classes are comprised of acting lessons, theatre games and exercises, as well as rehearsals for a showcase, which will be performed on Friday, July 18th at 7:30 pm. This class can be adapted to accommodate an actor's level of experience and/or needs. Dates/Times: July 7th - 18th, M-F, 1 -5 pm. *Actors should bring lots of water with them. *Performance Showcase: Friday, July 18th at 7:30pm. *On Friday, July 18th, class will dismiss at 3:30 pm. Location: Saint Francis Xavier Church Hall/McShea Auditorium Cost: Only $250. This is non-refundable. All registration forms, together with your payment(s), must be received by Friday, June 13, 2008. This workshop is for teenagers going into grades 8-12. Students will develop/refine their acting skills and learn the art of character development as they work on various short (10-15 minute) plays. Actors will present these plays on Friday night, July 25th at 7:30 pm. This class can be adapted to accommodate an actor's level of experience and/or needs. Dates/Times: July 21st - 25th, M-F, 10:00 am - 5 pm. *Actors should bring lots of water with them. *Actors should bring lunch with them. *Performance Showcase: Friday, July 25th at 7:30 pm. *On Friday, July 25th, class will dismiss at 4:00 pm. Location: Saint Francis Xavier Church Hall/McShea Auditorium Cost: Only $200. This is non-refundable. All registration forms, together with your payment(s), must be received by Friday, June 13, 2008.
